How Do I Burn a CD in Mac OS X?

If your mac has CD recording capabilites, you can burn a CD fairly easily with OS 10.3.
  1. Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW into the supported drive.

  2. When you are prompted to prepare the disc for burning, enter a name for the CD in the field provided and select an appropriate format.

  3. The disc will mount on your desktop like a regular hard drive. To put files on the CD, just drag and drop them to the CD icon. You can also double click on the CD icon to view the contents of the disc and arrange the files in folders. Be sure to arrange them exactly as you want them BEFORE burning the disc.

  4. When you're ready to burn the CD, drag the CD to the trash can on the Dock. You'll notice the trash can icon becomes the icon for Disc Burn.

  5. Once the CD has been burned, you will be prompted to either verify that the disc was burned successfully or eject the disc immediately. We recommend you verify the disc before ejecting it.
