Click on the Finder 
or
double-click on the Macintosh HD 
and open the Eudora 6.2.3
application. This is located in the Eudora folder inside the
Applications 
folder.
Select Yes if asked Do you want to use the system keychain?
Select No when asked Would you like to import settings and mail from another email application?
A window should appear requiring you to enter your settings for checking and sending mail. If this window does not appear, select Preferences from the Eudora menu at the top.
Fill in the first 4 fields as follows:
- Username: is the name preceeding the @ sign in your e-mail address
- Mail Server: is mail.stat.ucla.edu for all students, staff and faculty.
- Real Name: is your name as you would like it to appear in your mail
- SMTP Server: is always smtp.stat.ucla.edu
- Email Address: is optional, you may leave it empty or fill it in if it is different than YourUserName@stat.ucla.edu
Click on the Checking Mail icon 
on the left.
In the Connection section, mark the Check for mail every [ ] minutes button and enter the number of minutes. Ten minutes should be adequate.
Under Mail Management mark the Leave on sever for [ ] days button but do not enter a number of days.
Mark the Delete from server when emptied from trash button.
That's it! Click the OK button to close the settings window.
