There are several reasons why a job may not be printing. While some situations require help from technical support, there are some steps you can do to troubleshoot printer problems.
Is the printer queue stopped?
Open the Print Center application in the /Applications/Utilities folder
Check to see if the print queue is stopped, if it is, double click the queue and then click the Start Jobs button.
Is the job still in the queue?
Open the Print Center application in the /Applications/Utilities folder
Open the print queue window by double clicking the printer name.
If the job appears to be printing and there are no error messages, wait for it to finish
If you have been waiting a very long time and it still hasn't printed or there are error messages,
select the job in the queue window and press the Delete button
Note: if you have many jobs listed, delete them all
Select the Jobs menu at the top of the screen
If the Start Jobs option is available, select it (otherwise leave it)
Is the printer online and functioning?
Check the status LCD on the printer, some print jobs may cause the printer to hang. Power cycling the the printer will fix this error, but often the job that caused the printer to crash is still on the print server. Contact technical support if this situation occurs.
If the printer is jammed, or is out of paper contact technical support.
That's it! Try printing again. If you still cannot print, contact the technical support staff.
