How Do I Setup Double Sided Printing?


Lab computers and accounts have managed print settings This means avaliable printers are already installed and setup. If you need to print single sided, contact [support@stat.ucla.edu]

In order to have access to double sided printing, the correct printer drivers must be installed on your computer for the HP LaserJet 4250.

To check whether the drivers are already installed on your computer:

Installing HP LaserJet 4250 Printer Drivers:

  1. Download the LaserJet 4250 drivers from the HP website by clicking here and then clicking the blue download button.

  2. Open the installer you just downloaded by double clicking on "hp LaserJet Installer v4.11 EN"

  3. Follow the simple on screen instructions to install the hP LaserJet drivers.

  4. Open the Printer Setup Utility by going to Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Printer Setup Utility

  5. Select the Printer "8135MS on 128.97.86.242" and click the button "Show Info"

  6. From the pull down menu, select "Printer Model"

  7. From the pull down menu that appears below select "HP"

  8. Scroll down the list that appears and select "HP LaserJet 4250"

  9. Click "Apply Changes" and quit the Printer Setup Utility. The drivers are now installed and configured on your computer.

Printing Documents Double Sided:

  1. Open the file you wish to print double sided.

  2. Go to File > Print...

  3. From the Printer menu select "8135MS on 128.97.86.242"

  4. Click on the option menu showing "Copies and Pages" and select "Layout"

  5. From the Layout screen, change the "Two Sided" option from "Off" to "Long-edged Binding"

  6. To save these settings, click on the Preset menu and select "Save as..."s

  7. Type in the name of the preset: "Double Sided" and click save.

  8. Click on the "Print" button to print your document double sided. You are now finished setting up double sided printing for the HP LaserJet 4250.
